Mastodon
Why We Use It
At Telecharge, we believe in building for the long term. That means choosing tools and platforms that won’t vanish overnight, don’t rely on ad revenue, and aren’t designed to manipulate attention. Mastodon is one of those tools.
Mastodon is federated, open source, and community-driven. It’s part of a broader movement toward a decentralized web—like Matrix and Discourse—which aligns with our values: sustainability, transparency, and user freedom.
We don’t use Mastodon because it’s trendy. We use it because we trust it.
A space we can count on
We use our Mastodon account to share updates, ideas, and changes—sometimes as a public changelog, sometimes as off-the-cuff thoughts. It’s flexible. But more importantly, it’s ours. No algorithms. No gatekeeping. What we post is what you see.
It’s a place where we can speak plainly, and where anyone can follow or interact with us without needing to sign up for a centralized platform.
Why we support it
We support Mastodon not just because we use it, but because we believe in what it represents: A web that works for people. Not platforms. Not advertisers. People.
If you’re someone who wants to publish short-form content, connect directly with others, or simply have a voice online without being at the mercy of corporate algorithms—consider Mastodon. We did.
Getting started with Mastodon
You don’t need to join a specific platform to use Mastodon. It’s made up of many independently run servers (called instances) that all talk to each other.
- You can sign up on any instance—mastodon.social, fosstodon.org, or one that fits your interests.
- Once you have an account, you can follow @team@telechar.ge just like you would on any other social platform.
- You’ll see our posts, and you can reply, share, or start a conversation.
- Or do like us: host your own Mastodon server. It takes some setup, but it’s well within reach—and a very rewarding project.
